Wood lark. Greek: δεvτρoσταρήθρα. Lardos, June 2021.
Resident, uncommon. Length: 13-15 cm, wingspan: 27-30 cm. Sexes similar. Open areas with scattered trees. Feeds on seeds, insects. Builds cup nest concealed in vegetation on ground. Undulating flight alternating rapid fluttering with ‘body glides’ with closed wings. Loud melodious song on the wing and from perch, spiralling song flight.
