Lesser fiery copper (male). Dimilia, August 2019.
Relatively wide distribution in small numbers, often singles, but one large colony on fallow land in northwest in 2019. Wingspan 25-30 mm. Upper side of wings bright golden red with black spots in males, yellowish orange with more black spots in females. Flies February to October in two generations; second generation has short tails. Main habitats meadows, idle farmland, coastal areas. Flies low over ground. Settles with open wings in warm weather.
